Landscapes Images - Just Before Any Journey
I don't believe there is any other photography topic that rewards effort as much as landscape does. To shoot really great landscape graphics you need to be up before the rooster as well as dwelling following the nightingale goes to sleep. Sometimes you have to walk all day and it is often too hot or too cold. In the light of this, I reckon that your comfort is as important as your photographic eye and technique.
You can't - or at least I can not - take great picture if you're hot, cold, or weary. I can not walk if I 'm fed up with having a sunburnt neck or if my feet are raw. Even though the weather can't be controlled by you, there are some basic steps you can take to ensure your comfort level is as high as possible. Once all your personal needs are cared for, you will be free to shoot at masterpieces. The following list includes some of the points that I think are vital for any landscape photography trip:

Put on a top that has a collar.
Consistently carry a hat: these are vital in both cold and hot climates.
Wear good waterproof hiking boots with thick socks.
Take energy bars to eat.
Carry a water bottle that is complete.
If it's bright do not' forget your sunblock.
Take a torch in case you get lost and you also must find your way in the dark.
A space blanket is useful in the event you must keep warm, and it folds down to a size that is rather small.
Take a mobile phone in case of emergency, battery full charge.
If you're driving remember to landmark your car: park it near a huge tree or rock, for example - it's simpler to get lost than you may think.
A compass will help also (but don't leave it in the auto!)
