Landscapes Photography - In Advance Of Making Any Trip
I do not think there is any other photography subject that rewards effort as much as landscape does. To take landscape pictures that are extremely good after the nightingale goes to sleep you have to be up before the rooster as well as home. Sometimes you have to walk and it's also often too hot or too cold. In the light of this, I reckon your comfort is as important as your photographic eye and technique.
You can not - or at least I can not - take good picture if you're cold, hot, or weary. I can't walk if my feet are sore or if I am fed up with having a sunburnt neck. There are some basic steps you can take to ensure your comfort level is as high as possible although you can not control the weather. Once your personal needs have all been cared for, you'll be free to shoot masterpieces. This list features some of the points whom I think are essential for any landscape photography trip:

Put on a shirt that has a collar.
Always take a hat: these are vital in both hot and cold climates.
Wear great waterproof hiking boots with thick socks.
Take energy bars to eat.
Carry a full water bottle.
When it's sunny do not' forget your sunblock.
Require a torch in the event you get lost and you have to locate your way in the dark.
A space blanket is useful should you need to stay warm, and it folds down to a size that is tiny.
Take a cell phone battery full charge, in the event of emergency.
In case you are driving remember to landmark your car: park it near a huge tree or stone, for example - it is simpler to get lost than you might believe.
A compass will help too (but do not leave it in the auto!)
