Landscapes Photography - Prior To You Making Any Get-away
I actually don't think there is any other photography topic that rewards attempt as much as landscape does. To take really great landscape graphics following the nightingale goes to sleep, you have to be up before the rooster and dwelling. Sometimes you have to walk and it's also generally too hot or too cold. In the light of this, I reckon your comfort is as important as your photographic eye and technique.
You can not - or at least I can't - take good picture if you're drained, hot, or cold. I can't walk if my feet are raw or if I am fed up with having a sunburnt neck. There are some basic steps you can take to ensure your comfort level is as high as possible even though you can't control the weather. Once all your personal needs are cared for, you will be free to shoot masterpieces. This list includes some of the points whom I think are vital for any landscape photography trip:

Put on a shirt that has a collar.
Consistently take a hat: these are vital in both hot and cold climates.
Wear great hiking boots that are waterproof with thick socks.
Take energy bars to eat.
Carry a full water bottle.
When it's bright don't' forget your sunblock.
Take a torch in the event you get lost and you have to locate your way in the dark.
A space blanket is useful in case you have to keep warm, and it folds down to a size that is very small.
Take a mobile phone in the event of crisis, battery full charge.
In case you are driving remember to watershed your car: park it near a huge tree or rock, for example - it is more easy to get lost than you might think.
A compass will help also (however do not leave it in the car!)
