Photo Hints About Coloured Photo Filters That Can Take Your Landscape Photography To The Following Level!
Today's photo tips are about coloured photo filters which you should have in your camera bag at all times. And the way to avoid losing them! Adding coloured photo filters to your shooting armory is a good way to get radically better landscape photography!
Photo tip #1 - Exactly what is a good way so they are easily obtainable to put away your photo filters?
If you maintain them in their own original packaging, they take up a lot of room in your camera bag. Room which could be better put to utilize for spare batteries, memory sticks (film?) and so on. Plus, with them all jammed into a side pocket, you can not really tell what the filter is unless you take them all outside.
That is not much of a problem until the day you forget to put them back. It might cost you quite a lot of cash - and save the next photographer that shoots from that place a bundle.

Here's what you do... buy a zip close CD/DVD case. Connect it to your camera bag, and you won't ever lose it.
The filters will fit in the plastic CD/DVD slots and by simply flipping through the pages, you pick out the one you need to use and can see the filters! My case is created by Case Logic and has really been storing my filters for a long time. In case you need one camera cases are made by them also.
Photo Tip #2 - Colored Filters. Purchase them and do not buy them.
The next instance you are watching television - or visit the pictures, notice the colors on the screen. Particularly pay attention to when the scene is designed to represent dusk or morning. Often, colored filters are not natural and introduced the colors you see.
If done correctly, you never see the filter effect; as being shot at that time of day, you merely accept the scene.
Occasionally, the director lets not and the coloured filters become clear seamlessly blend in and may desire something edgy.
As I write this, there is a show on television called 'CSI - Miami!' Take a look at that one if you need to see a blatant utilization of coloured filters. In fact they use them in my opinion, also it detracts from the show.

But on the other hand, they're making the big bucks and I'm not, so my view is most likely incorrect.
In our photography, a general color wash like that is easily accomplished with one or two clicks in Photoshop.
Plus, you've got more control over the amount of color saturation and so on... so I counsel you to save your money and not purchase solid color filters.
What I recommend is that you get a couple of the most popular split filters. Get some pink ones and some tobacco ones. You can later determine on other colors as well as densities.
A split filter is one that is colored at the top and clear at the bottom. The dividing line can be sharp, or a gradual fade. (I advocate a slow fade.)
This is used to color the sky without changing the ground. The effect is more natural looking than a solid color wash - while at exactly the same time it's more difficult and time consuming to duplicate in Photoshop. Especially with a gradual fade.
It's worth spending a couple of dollars and having them in your arsenal.
Adding colored photo filters to your shooting will take your landscape photography to a new amount and give it that 'WOW' factor. This photo trick can set you besides the group and assist you to start winning photo competitions.
