Landscapes Digital Photography - Prior To You Making Any Vacation
I do not believe there is any other photography theme that rewards effort as much as landscape does. To shoot really good landscape pictures following the nightingale goes to sleep, you need to be up before the rooster as well as house. There are times that you have to walk all day and it's frequently too hot or too cold. In the light of this, I reckon that your comfort is as important as your photographic eye and technique.
You can not - or at least I can't - take good picture if you're drained, hot, or cold. I can not walk if my feet are sore or if I 'm fed up with having a sunburnt neck. There are some basic steps you can take to ensure your comfort level is as high as possible, even though you can not control the weather. You will be free to shoot masterpieces once your personal needs have all been cared for. The following list contains some of the points whom I think are vital for any landscape photography excursion:

Wear a top that has a collar.
Consistently take a hat: these are vital in both cold and hot climates.
Wear great hiking boots that are waterproof with thick socks.
Take energy bars to eat.
Carry a full water bottle.
If it's bright don't' forget your sunblock.
Require a torch in case you get lost and you also need to locate your way in the dark.
A space blanket is useful in case you need to stay warm, and it folds down to a size that is very small.
Take a mobile phone in case of emergency, battery full charge.
In case you are driving remember to watershed your car: park it near a vast tree or stone, for example - it is easier to get lost than you might think.
A compass will help too (however do not leave it in the car!)
