Landscapes Pictures - Prior To You Making Any Excursion
I actually don't think there is any other photography topic that rewards effort as much as landscape does. To shoot landscape pictures that are really good after the nightingale goes to sleep you must be up before the rooster as well as dwelling. There are times that you have to walk and it's generally too cold or too hot. In the light of this, I reckon that your comfort is as important as technique and your photographic eye.
You can not - or at least I can't - take great picture if you're exhausted, hot, or cold. I can not walk if I am fed up with having a sunburnt neck or if my feet are sore. Even though you can't control the weather, there are some basic steps you can take to ensure your comfort level is as high as possible. Once all your personal needs are cared for, you will be free to shoot at masterpieces. This list includes some of the points whom I think are crucial for any landscape photography trip:

Wear a shirt that has a collar.
Consistently bring a hat: these are essential in both cold and hot climates.
Wear good hiking boots that are waterproof with thick socks.
Take energy bars to eat.
Carry a complete water bottle.
If it's sunny don't' forget your sunblock.
Require a torch in the event you get lost and you need to seek out your way in the dark.
A space blanket is useful if you have to stay warm, and it folds down to a very small size.
Take a mobile phone battery full charge, in the event of crisis.
If you're driving recall to landmark your car: park it near a huge tree or rock, for example - it is simpler to get lost than you may think.
A compass will help also (but do not leave it in the auto!)
