Landscapes Pictures - In Advance Of Making Any Journey
I do not think there is any other photography theme that rewards effort as much as landscape does. To take really good landscape images following the nightingale goes to sleep, you must be up before the rooster and home. There are times that you have to walk all day and it's also often too cold or too hot. In the light of this, I reckon that your comfort is as important as technique and your photographic eye.
You can not - or at least I can not - take good picture if you are weary, hot, or cold. I can not walk if I am fed up with having a sunburnt neck or if my feet are raw. There are some basic steps you can take to ensure your comfort level is as high as possible, even though you can't control the weather. Once all your personal needs have been cared for, you'll be free to shoot at masterpieces. The following list comprises some of the points whom I think are crucial for practically any landscape photography excursion:

Wear a shirt that has a collar.
Consistently take a hat: these are essential in both hot and cold climates.
Wear good waterproof hiking boots with thick socks.
Take energy bars to eat.
Carry a water bottle that is full.
If it's sunny do not' forget your sunblock.
Require a torch in case you get lost and you also have to seek out your way in the dark.
A space blanket is useful if you need to keep warm, and it folds down to a very small size.
Take a cell phone in case of emergency, battery full charge.
If you're driving remember to watershed your car: park it near a vast tree or rock, for example - it is easier to get lost than you might believe.
A compass will help also (but do not leave it in the auto!)
