Landscapes Images - Prior To Any Journey
I don't believe there is any other photography subject that rewards attempt as much as landscape does. To shoot really good landscape images after the nightingale goes to sleep, you need to be up before the rooster and dwelling. There are times that you need to walk all day and it's also often too hot or too cold. In the light of this, I reckon that your comfort is as important as your photographic eye and technique.
You can not - or at least I can't - if you're weary, hot, or cold, take good picture. I can not walk if my feet are sore or if I 'm fed up with having a sunburnt neck. There are some basic steps you can take to ensure your comfort level is as high as possible although you can not control the weather. Once your personal needs have all been cared for, you will be free to shoot masterpieces. The following list comprises some of the points that I believe are crucial for any landscape photography excursion:

Wear a shirt that's a collar.
Consistently bring a hat: these are crucial in both cold and hot climates.
Wear great hiking boots that are waterproof with thick socks.
Take energy bars to eat.
Carry a full water bottle.
When it's bright do not' forget your sunblock.
Require a torch in the event you get lost and you also have to locate your way in the dark.
A space blanket is useful in the event you have to keep warm, and it folds down to a rather small size.
Take a mobile phone battery full charge, in the event of crisis.
In case you are driving remember to milestone your car: park it near a huge tree or stone, for example - it is more easy to get lost than you might think.
A compass will help too (however don't leave it in the auto!)
