Landscapes Pictures - Ahead Of Any Trip
I don't think there's any other photography topic that rewards effort as much as landscape does. To take landscape images that are really good after the nightingale goes to sleep you must be up before the rooster and house. There are times that you have to walk all day and it is generally too cold or too hot. In the light of this, I reckon your comfort is as important as technique and your photographic eye.
You can't - or at least I can not - take great picture if you are hot, cold, or drained. I can not walk if my feet are raw or if I 'm fed up with having a sunburnt neck. There are some basic steps you can take to ensure your comfort level is as high as possible although you can not control the weather. Once all your personal needs are cared for, you will be free to shoot at masterpieces. The following list comprises some of the points whom I think are vital for any landscape photography trip:

Wear a shirt that has a collar.
Always carry a hat: these are crucial in both hot and cold climates.
Wear great hiking boots that are waterproof with thick socks.
Take energy bars to eat.
Carry a water bottle that is complete.
If it's sunny don't' forget your sunblock.
Take a torch in case you get lost and you also have to locate your way in the dark.
A space blanket is useful in case you have to keep warm, and it folds down to a size that is tiny.
Take a mobile phone in the event of emergency, battery full charge.
In case you are driving recall to watershed your car: park it near a vast tree or rock, for example - it is easier to get lost than you might think.
A compass will help also (but do not leave it in the auto!)
