Landscapes Digital Photography - Before Making Any Getaway
I don't believe there's any other photography theme that rewards attempt as much as landscape does. To take extremely good landscape images you have to be up before the rooster as well as home following the nightingale goes to sleep. Sometimes you have to walk and it's generally too hot or too cold. In the light of this, I reckon your comfort is as important as your photographic eye and technique.
You can't - or at least I can't - take great picture if you are weary, hot, or cold. I can't walk if my feet are raw or if I am fed up with having a sunburnt neck. Even though the weather can't be controlled by you, there are some basic steps you can take to ensure your comfort level is as high as possible. You'll be free to shoot masterpieces once all your personal needs have been cared for. This list contains a number of the points whom I believe are vital for practically any landscape photography trip:

Wear a shirt that has a collar.
Always carry a hat: these are vital in both cold and hot climates.
Wear great waterproof hiking boots with thick socks.
Take energy bars to eat.
Carry a full water bottle.
If it's bright don't' forget your sunblock.
Take a torch in the event you get lost and you must seek out your way in the dark.
A space blanket is useful if you need to stay warm, and it folds down to a size that is tiny.
Take a mobile phone battery full charge, in case of emergency.
If you are driving remember to milestone your car: park it near a huge tree or stone, for example - it is more easy to get lost than you might think.
A compass will help also (but don't leave it in the auto!)
