Landscapes Images - Prior To Any Vacation
I actually don't think there's any other photography subject that rewards attempt as much as landscape does. To take landscape images that are really great after the nightingale goes to sleep, you need to be up before the rooster and house. Sometimes you need to walk and it is often too hot or too cold. In the light of this, I reckon your comfort is as important as technique and your photographic eye.
You can't - or at least I can not - if you're drained, hot, or cold, take good picture. I can't walk if my feet are raw or if I 'm fed up with having a sunburnt neck. Although the weather can't be controlled by you, there are some basic steps you can take to ensure your comfort level is as high as possible. You will be free to shoot masterpieces once your personal needs have all been cared for. This list contains a number of the points that I believe are vital for practically any landscape photography trip:

Put on a top that's a collar.
Consistently take a hat: these are vital in both cold and hot climates.
Wear great hiking boots that are waterproof with thick socks.
Take energy bars to eat.
Carry a water bottle that is full.
When it's sunny do not' forget your sunblock.
Require a torch in the event you get lost and you must locate your way in the dark.
A space blanket is useful in case you need to stay warm, and it folds down to a tiny size.
Take a cell phone battery full charge, in case of crisis.
If you are driving remember to landmark your car: park it near a vast tree or rock, for example - it is more easy to get lost than you may think.
A compass will help too (but don't leave it in the auto!)
